 Description of the Author:

ALISSA ORSULAK is an educator, wife, mother, and now a published author. You may be thinking, “Jeez! Is there anything this woman can’t do?” To answer your question, yes— she cannot parallel park. If you happen to witness her

attempting to parallel park in the wild, please give her privacy. She may try a few attempts before deciding to park ten minutes down the road.

In her hometown of St. Catharines, Ontario, Alissa began her journey of recovering from an acquired brain injury in July of 2016. Through resiliency, a great support system, positivity, and an eclectic sense of humour, she successfully made it through the various stages of grief and has come to terms with her brain injury, new normal, and sense of self. She hopes that, through reading her memoir, you find a sense of comfort and humour in her story. And most importantly—she wants you to know you are so much more than your brain injury, and that you, too, will make it to the other side.
